According to Article 77(1) of the EU Battery Regulation, the battery passport is mandatory for the following battery categories from 2027:

Electric vehicle batteries (EV batteries)
Batteries for light means of transportation (LMT), e.g. e-bikes and e-scooters
Industrial batteries with a capacity of over 2 kWh, e.g. for industrial applications, communication infrastructure or energy storage
